Welcome to the Korean American Medical Association . KAMA will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary in 2014 but there is over a hundred year history of Koreans in America and many Korean American physicians including Philip Jaisohn who got his MD in 1892 that have served the community and contributed to medical science.
There are innumerable Korean American physicians with many accomplishments. There is Dr. Sammy Lee a two time Gold winning Olympian diver for the US. Dr. Larry Kwak who was named Time magazines most influential people in America. Dr. Howard Koh is Assistant Secretary of Health. There are many young Korean American who aspire to be doctors and KAMA helps foster these aspirations and expect more great things yet to come.
KAMA brought together physicians with a goal of promoting scientific exchange, global outreach and networking. KAMA is focused on health disparities and providing medical missions to under served areas like North Korea.
The annual KAMA Scientific Convention is a premier CME event with the growing ranks of prominent physician researchers and experts. The 2014 Convention will he held in Hawaii the state that many of the early Koreans entered America. Hawaii is a great meeting venue for scientific exchange and networking and is family friendly environment. The 40th Anniversary meeting on August 7-9, 2014 theme is the “Past , Present and Future of KAMA”. Please join us in the memorable special anniversary meeting in spectacular Hawaii.
